MOSS, MCO2 Token, And Global CO2 Emissions

It is estimated that during the height of the containment measures in early April 2020, there was an unprecedented 17% reduction in carbon emissions. Several factors contribute to those figures, including less travel, lockdown measures enforced globally, and so forth. 

To keep the momentum going, MOSS has successfully passed on US$10 million in proceeds to the Amazon forest conservation projects since March of 2020. As a project intent on addressing climate changes, these efforts will raise awareness for the dire state our planet is in today. If no large-scale effort is undertaken, our planet will reach the point of no return for climate change by 2070, if not earlier. 

This is the largest amount ever sent by a private member to the Amazon forest conservation projects. The token is virtual and is already listed on a crypto exchange (FlowBTC) and is also audited by the best reliable companies like Perkins Cole, CertiK, and others. The MCO2 token has grown and is already #190 globally in terms of market cap and value (according to coinmarketcap.com). It also has an estimated market value of US$ 40 million. 

Even so, the levels remained equivalent to those of 2006, an indication of the dramatic increase experienced over the last 15 years and the continued dependence on fossil fuels for power generation. In early June 2020, daily global emissions of fossil CO2 returned to near 2019 levels, when a record 36.7 gigatons were reached, 62% more than when climate change negotiations began in 1990. 

It is estimated that in 2020 CO2 emissions will decrease by 4% to 7% due to containment measures. The exact percentage of reduction will depend on the evolution of the pandemic and governments’ responses to the emergency. Waiting for the government has always shown always to have an unfortunate result.
